David Krantz

Managing Partner

David is an active investor as Managing Partner of his DragonHeart Capital investment platform.

Prior to forming DragonHeart Capital, David led the spin out of YP, North America’s largest local search and advertising company in partnership with Cerberus Capital Management. YP was formed as a standalone company in May of 2012 by the combination of assets from AT&T Advertising Solutions and AT&T Interactive.

As CEO, David led a team of over 5K employees and grew digital revenues to over $1B and YP.com online and mobile properties to 60M+ monthly unique visitors. YP extinguished all acquisition debt through operating cash flow improvements and returned $946M in dividends to investors in the first two years of operations.  In September of 2016, David successfully transitioned the CEO role and is currently serving as a Strategic Advisors to YP and Cerberus.

Prior to leading YP, David served as CEO of AT&T Interactive, one of two AT&T business units that combined to form the new YP.  Prior to AT&T Interactive, David led AT&T’s Business Development efforts within consumer markets and was also Vice President of Marketing & Product Management for AT&T’s consumer division, reaching approximately 25 million customers. Before joining AT&T, David held other leadership positions at GoDigital Networks, a telecommunications equipment company, AOL / Netscape, and Pacific Bell. David started his career at Proctor & Gamble.

David served on the Board of Directors of American Tire Distributors, the largest wholesale tire distribution company in North America and operator of www.tirebuyer.com.

 

David holds a BS degree from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
